It is a 30mil plastic card on a stock with a metallic shimmer built into the material, not printed on top. Because the effect is in the plastic itself, it shifts as the card moves under light — the same way a pearl finish does on paper, but on a durable credit-card-thick card that survives a wallet. We offer it in silver and in gold.
Yes, as two separate stocks. You choose one for the order — silver reads cooler and more modern, gold reads warmer and more premium. If you are undecided, order a free sample kit and hold them against your brand colors; the difference is much clearer in the hand than on a screen.
Not on their own, and this is the one thing worth planning for. Printing ink is semi-transparent, so the shimmer underneath shows through and shifts every color on top of it. The fix is white blocking: we print a white underlayer first wherever you want color to read true, and leave it off wherever you want the metal to come through. Tell us which parts of the design should shimmer and which should not, and we will set it up.
Two card finishes: silk, a smooth matte surface, or gloss UV, a high-shine one. Spot UV — raised gloss on selected areas — needs the silk finish underneath to show contrast, so choose silk if you want it. On a pearlescent stock the matte finish tends to read the most expensive, because it lets the shimmer do the work instead of competing with a gloss.
A magnetic stripe, barcodes and QR codes, sequential numbering, variable data — a different name or code on every card, from a list you send us — a signature panel, a scratch-off PIN, embossed numbering, foil, and a hole or lanyard punch. Every option shows its own price on this page. If the card has to work with a specific system, tell us which one before production so we can confirm the setup.
The minimum is 500 cards, at the standard credit-card size of 3.375" x 2.125". Custom sizes are possible — ask and we will quote it. Every order is produced to your specifications and quality-checked before it ships.
