“I cannot thank this company enough! My business cards are absolutely fabulous and I have received so many compliments on them. The pictures will not do them justice. I got the suede finish, 48 pt thick cards with silver foil on one side and the edges. They are so luxurious.”

30mil is credit-card thickness — about 0.76 mm, the same gauge as a bank or ID card. It is the standard premium plastic stock: solid PVC that flexes without creasing, resists water and tearing, and feels substantial in the hand. The lighter alternative is 12mil (about 0.30 mm), which suits shorter campaigns and high-volume handouts.
Choose 30mil when the card has to last: membership cards, loyalty cards, gift cards, IDs, and anything meant for daily wallet carry and repeated scanning. Choose 12mil when the card is lighter-duty or high-volume — promos, handouts, and short campaigns where credit-card heft is not required. 30mil costs a little more per card but is the workhorse most programs pick. At 1,000 cards, Silk laminated 30mil is $272 versus $134 for 12mil.
Pricing is shown openly on this page. Silk laminated 30mil plastic cards run $182 for 250 cards ($0.73 each), $272 for 1,000 ($0.27 each), and $1,662 for 10,000 ($0.17 each) — full color, both sides, before any optional add-ons. Add-ons (scan codes, numbering, magnetic stripe) are listed with their prices so you can see exactly what each total includes.
Yes. 30mil cards are solid PVC plastic, not coated paper. They resist water, flex without snapping, shrug off tearing, and hold up to years of wallet carry, key-ring use, and repeated scanning without fraying at the edges. That durability is the main reason businesses choose 30mil over paper for cards meant to be kept and used again and again.
This page is the Silk one — a premium smooth matte surface, and the finish where Spot UV and foil look their best. There are four across the 30mil range. Gloss is the standard high-shine workhorse. Frosted is a translucent, see-through look. Pearlescent adds a gold or silver shimmer. At 1,000 cards, Gloss is $224, Silk is $272, and Frosted and Pearlescent are $283. Each finish has its own page if you want the detail.
Yes — 30mil is exactly that: a thick, hard, credit-card-stock card. It is the premium plastic stock used for durable, high-impact cards ordered in quantity. If you want a single professional’s plastic business card, see our Plastic Business Cards page; if you are ordering durable cards in volume — membership, loyalty, gift, or ID — this silk-laminated stock is the page you are on.
Barcodes and QR codes (Code 39, Code 128, UPC, EAN), sequential numbering and variable data (a different code, number or detail on every card, from a list you send us), magnetic stripes (LoCo or HiCo; Track 1, 2, or both), signature panels, scratch-off PINs, foil, and hole or lanyard punches. Most options are +$48 for quantities up to 1,000, with option totals adjusting at larger quantities. Tell us what system the card needs to work with so we can help confirm the right setup.
Yes. Our $99 custom design service pairs you with a designer who turns your logo, colors, or a rough idea into a production-ready front and back — including where any scan code, number field, or signature panel sits. Already have print-ready artwork? Upload it and skip the design charge.
The minimum is 250 cards. Every order is produced to your specifications and quality-checked before it ships. Because you order directly from SilkCards, our team can support the project from artwork and feature setup through production.
Standard production is 12 working days after artwork approval. Some add-ons, such as certain magnetic-stripe encoding or large variable-data runs, can extend that slightly. If you have a deadline, tell us at order time and we will confirm the schedule before production starts.
